EDMO presents Executive and Advisory Boards

With the guidance of the independent Advisory Board and under the leadership of the operational Executive Board, EDMO will build out its role as Europe’s hub for a multi-disciplinary response to online disinformation. Meet the Board members.

EDMO Boards approve governance charter

The Charter that will guide the work of Governance Body of the European Digital Media Observatory was approved during the first meeting of the Advisory Board and the Executive Board. Read the Charter!

In its first conversation with fact-checkers, the European Digital Media Observatory introduced its activities and services to fact-checking organisations operating in the EU.

Workshop on the first year of implementation of the Code of Practice on Disinformation

Following the European Commission’s assessment of the implementation of the Code of Practice on Disinformation, the workshop will discuss proposals for strengthening the implementation and monitoring of the Code, including through the development of KPIs.

EDMO Phase 2: The call for proposals for the creation of national hubs on digital media is out.  The second phase of the project will fund with 9 million EUR through the Connecting Europe Facility for the creation of national/multinational digital media research hubs across Europe.

EU grants for small-scale online media: The call for proposals supporting high-quality news products and tackling fake news will support the EU strategy to tackle disinformation and complement EDMO’s activities by providing funding to specific research projects on disinformation.

EU Communication on tackling COVID-19 disinformation: While the COVID-19 ‘infodemic’ has underlined the need for online platforms to provide more data on the nature, scope and impact of disinformation, EDMO’s cross-border, independent and multi-disciplinary community will also play a role in better understanding and analysing disinformation in the area of COVID-19.
